Who can watch?
Sky TV customers
If you subscribe to Sky Multiroom or Sky Broadband Unlimited, you can watch live TV on Sky Player at no additional charge. All other Sky TV customers can subscribe to watch live TV on Sky Player for only £5.00/€7.50 a month, with no need for additional Sky boxes or installation.
Non Sky TV customers
Now everyone can watch live TV on Sky Player without a dish. Our monthly subscription packs even include a selection of catch-up programmes to watch on demand for free. Minimum contract is just one month.
What you need to know
You can watch Sky Player live TV in your web browser on up to 4 computers. All you need is a recent PC or Intel-based Mac, with broadband from any provider. You'll need to install the Microsoft Silverlight 3.0 browser plug-in if you haven't got it already.
You can only watch Sky Movies Screen 1 and Screen 2 on your main registered computer or Xbox 360.
Not all programmes are available – parts of the schedule will be ‘blacked out’ until the rights are cleared and they are available to show online. Details of exactly which programmes are currently blacked out can be found in our Live TV FAQs
You can choose from three viewing quality levels – low, medium and high. The high setting gives a great viewing experience; you'll hardly notice the difference to the quality on your television.
Picture and sound quality will depend on your broadband connection speed, your computer hardware, and whatever else you are using your computer for at the time.
Only one computer or Xbox 360 per household can be used to view live TV channels on Sky Player at any one time. Viewers must be entitled subscribers or members of their household – abuse could result in the suspension of viewing rights.
You must be aged 18 or over to subscribe to the service, and a resident of the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Republic of Ireland.
