Sky Player gives you more ways to watch and enjoy great TV from Sky. Not only can you watch live and on demand programmes on your computer, you can now also watch on your TV with Xbox 360 and Windows Media Center.
Where can I watch TV from Sky?
On your computer
Watch Sky TV programmes live and on demand – instantly in your web browser on PC or Mac. Firefox, Safari and Internet Explorer browsers are all supported.
Watch great TV and Movies from Sky wherever you are. Watch in a second room without a set top box, on your laptop or your PC at work.
And now, if you have Microsoft Windows 7, you can access Sky Player and watch TV from Sky in Windows Media Center (Sky Player on Windows Media Center is currently only available in the UK.)
On your TV
There's more than one way to watch Sky Player on your TV.
You can now watch TV from Sky on your Xbox 360 and bring Sky Player to your TV. Plus watch live TV with your friends who also have the service in Party Mode.
Plus many computers and laptops now have a TV out (S-Video or HDMI), so you can just connect the relevant cable to your TV and bring Sky Player into the living room.
How can I watch?
On registered devices
With Sky Player you can watch TV from Sky on up to 4 computers and 1 Xbox.
Sky Player device registration takes place automatically when you first watch programmes, or when you sign in on Xbox or Sky Player Software.
You can only watch Sky Movies and Sky1 programmes on your Xbox 360 and main registered computer.
You can only watch TV with Sky Player on one device per household at any one time. Viewers must be entitled subscribers or members of their household – abuse could result in the suspension of viewing rights.
Using Sky Player Software
You don't need Sky player software to watch TV online on Sky Player, but if you do install it you can bookmark programmes and download them to watch offline with guaranteed picture quality.
If you have the Sky Player software installed on another PC that's turned on, you can also send on demand content to your library so it's ready to watch when you get home.
Live TV player
Our live TV player now lets you browse channels and programmes while you watch, with a TV guide similar to the Sky TV Guide.
1. To see what programmes are on later use the left and right arrows.
2. To simply see what's on other channels now and later, use the channel drop down or up and down arrows.
3. Quickly switch to a different channel by clicking on ‘Watch now’
4. Click on a programme to view detailed programme information
5. Select from 3 available picture qualities: High (1800Kbps), Medium (1200 Kbps) and Low(600 Kbps)
6. Change volume or mute audio entirely
7. Switch to a more detailed TV Guide view
8. Detach the live TV player in a separate window and continue to watch while you browse Sky's websites.
9. Switch to viewing full screen – perfect for when you're watching with a friend or on your TV.
