What speed internet connection do I need?

Sky Player live TV channels are available at 3 quality levels so you can select the one that works best for your current internet connection speed. You only need a 1Mbps internet connection to watch the Low (600Kbps) quality, but we recommend at least a 2Mbps connection to watch at Medium (1200Kbps) or High (1800Kbps) quality. The high setting gives a great viewing experience; you'll hardly notice the difference to the quality on your television.

How do I resume playback after the channel has stopped?

Live TV and proxy server issues

A number of our regular Sky Player users have encountered problems trying to access Live TV, particularly the Ashes from their work computers. Instead of being able to watch the Ashes they get an [MF1] error.

This error can be generated if your work PC is passing through a proxy server.

What is a proxy server? Well simply put a proxy server essentially sits between your work PC and the Internet. The proxy server will handle requests for information and websites from your work PC and pass the result back, rather than your PC connecting directly to the Internet.

Many employers use their proxy servers to block and filter access to particular types of websites and you may find that your IT guys have blocked access to streaming content in order to keep the load down on your company network.

As a result of this Sky are unable to do anything directly that will allow you to view the content from your work PC. Your IT guys however may be able to allow your access through the proxy server.
